Alumnus 2016: Bojan Stojkovski
Journalist, News Agency Makfax/ Clip Media Group (Macedonia)
What drives you in your everyday work?
My main motivation comes from the endless opportunities to learn, to gain new knowledge and to be able to implement each new skill that I learn along the way.
What kind of change do you want to bring to your local level?
I feel like my main objective would be to bring an international dimension to my local level, hence I always try to integrate the new skills and the new knowledge I come across in my trips and the experiences that I hear around Europe, and to implement those new ideas and perspectives at my workplace and my environment
What idea of Europe do you wish and fight for?
I strive for a society where every citizen would be able to exercise his basic human rights, no matter the gender, ethnicity, religion etc.
In your opinion, which strategies could be used by NGOs to influence the decision making in international bodies?
NGOs could definitely use more bottom-up approaches when dealing with decision making in international bodies, since most institutions throughout Europe lack such aspects and could use these new approaches and perspectives given by the NGOs.
What inspired you the most about being a part of Europe Lab?
I attended the Europe Lab in 2016, and it was a tremendous experience for me, since I got to know a lot of professionals and friends from various EU regions and Russia – it was great to hear a lot of different stories and to get to know different cultures!
Are you in contact with other Alumni and do you work/do projects together?
Since 2016, each year I have participated in some of the projects that have been developed from the Europe Lap programme. In 2016 I was a part of the #Medialogue project. The next year I took part in the “Voices of Change”, and for the current year I am the European coordinator for the WeAccept project, together with Alumni member Anastasia Sechina from Perm, Russia.
